We were back in our walking ways yesterday. About the only folks out and about in this heat (and Saharan Desert sand), other than the daring cat we passed (by daring I mean any small critter roaming our streets is most assuredly coyote bait), were those mowing their lawns. One of them even told us we needed to get out of the heat. Chris was looking kind of pale and pekid. She said she was feeling kind of puny. Fortunately we were close to the house. She finished out like a champ, got some water, and rested up.
I finally got around to formulating a text to send to my neighbor about replacing the fence we share back behind us. I told him what the TWIA adjuster said about the whole fence being compromised and needing to be replaced. I also told him how much the TWIA estimate was to replace it. We’ll see how that goes.
In the afternoon I watched a bunch of Olympic events. Swimming. Volleyball. Basketball. 3 on 3 basketball (where did THAT come from?). Chris read some on the back porch, then took a nap.
Speaking of basketball, in the midst of whatever those NBA guys usually play, I have come out with a new favorite Olympics basketball player. Just because he has a cool name. In fact his last name is the same as Chris’ eye doc - Adebayu. But the thing that cinched it for me was his first name. Ready? Bam. Come on. That’s a great name. Bam Adebayu.
Ephesians 3:20-21 says, Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us — to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Father, please help work out the details on all this storm repair stuff. Amen.
