The chill was still strong in the air. Not wanting to chance any undue exposure to said temperatures, the Vaughan clan of Galveston determined to stay put inside. Well, for most of the day, anyway.
It is more than difficult to keep Chris inside, however. When she has tasted the earliest signs of Spring, she just can’t help herself. So she made some time when the sun and its warmth were at its zenith. “I had no choice,” she seemed to be saying. “With the cold snap coming next week I had to get some more mulch around my azaleas.” Well, of course. No choice at all. I did offer to help carry the bag. That scenario was promptly rebuked, though not with her voice. Her eyes. Oh, what a telling rebuke can be emitted from those eyes. I held my peace - and my seat - after that.
Sam spent a few hours at her house with her sister. I spent a few hours - though not concurrently - working on that new puzzle. That is, until the A&M vs. Kentucky basketball game came on. Definitely the stuff of college basketball excitement there. And unranked A&M knocked off number six. Great game. Then we switched over to the Texans playoff football game. Hey. They haven’t been there very often. Someone has to cheer them on. And they did not disappoint. They will play another day.
Psalm 46:1-3 says, God is our refuge and strength, a very pr esent help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
Father, thank you for the way your weather can change on a dime. Makes the days and weeks interesting. Amen.
