July 3 - “Back in the day”

We saw several families of folks at church who used to come a lot “back in the day.”  They are all out-of-towners who managed to score a place to stay for the big holiday weekend. Great to catch up.

After church we made our way to the back roads and home. The tourists were definitely out in droves. We followed our plan for the day: stay at home (avoiding traffic) and indoors (out of the heat and into the air conditioning).

I watched the Astros. Chris washed some clothes in preparation for our out of town guests.

And who might those guests be? Josh and his tribe came down for the evening. They’ll be here today, then leave to spend the Fourth with the Powell’s in Crosby.

Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭says, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Father, thank you for the safe journey for the Waco Vaughan’s.  Amen.
