We ventured into the heat yesterday morning. Not that we went anywhere. Well, Chris went for a walk, but the bulk of the time we were doing yard work. Mowing, edging, sweating, etc. we also tossed the old, rusty iron table that we have had up on the deck. I mean … literally tossed it. Off the deck onto the ground below. Then we carried it to the street for the trash guys (or the metal-collecting guy, whichever came first). But did I mention it was hot? Really, really hot.
Radiation treatment number five is in the books. A third of the way through. We were beginning to wonder if we would ever get there, though. We figured the Seawall would be crowded with tourists, so we took the route of first choice for residents. Stewart to where it is closed for construction, then over to the one-way to a street the goes all the way through to Harborside and the location of the clinic. Except … now the one-way is under construction, too. Not to be deterred, we finagled our way through some actual back roads and finally ended up where we needed to be.
And then … in the waiting room, right above where we chose to sit, of course, one of the lights was flickering on and off. Highly annoying. After Chris went back, I finally moved to a different seat where the bill of my cap blocked out the flashes. Otherwise, I would have been more hypnotized than usual.
Sigh. Oh, well … Done and done for number five.
Psalms 100:5 says, For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Father, thanks for watching over us in the heat and through all those detours. And thanks for getting Chris a third of the way. Amen.
