How’s this for a start to our fine Saturday? We drove all the way to Alvin for a Brazilian JuJitsu (The cool kids call it “BJJ”) tournament. Not exactly baseball or basketball, huh? Maybe a little closer to football, though. They did grapple with each other. And who was the star of this unusual display of martial arts acumen? Well, from our perspective, anyway. It was Noa. Beat ‘em up, girl!
In the afternoon, Nathan’s bunch was going to come down to pick up Marlee. Their big vacation road trip to Tennessee had sadly come to an end. As it turned out, it worked out better for us to bring Marlee up to them. Marlee was, of course, overjoyed to see them. And I’m pretty sure the feeling was mutual, at least for the most part. They gifted us with some amazing souvenir stuff for our pantry. And Cailyn found me a stuffed Sasquatch … with two large vampire-ish teeth on the sides of his mouth. Love it.
Proverbs 18:10 says, The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Father, thanks for giving Nathan and April and Cailyn a safe trip home. Now please grant them some rest before they have to go back to work. Amen.
