Yesterday was “Take Freddy Back to The Vet Day.” The doc wanted to take off Freddy’s ear bandage and check it out. Aaaaannd … apparent success. All looks good at this point. We’re just supposed to stop her from shaking her head so forcefully. Good luck with that …
Our
outside project of the day was a back yard affair. The rope lights that
illuminate the stairs and the upstairs part of the deck had worked their way
loose in numerous places. We picked up some coaxial cable staples, and they
worked like a charm at doing the repair work needed.
Back
inside, we did the usual Thursday preparations for home group. Vacuuming,
sweeping, dusting. We also hung up the last printer’s drawer. Chris got it all
filled in and ready for company.
The
Astros played an afternoon game, so that was my task. Had to help them out any
way I can. As it turned out, all they needed was home runs from Altuve
and Alvarez. The “Double-A’s.”
Last
night at home group we finally finished the Book of Ruth. Actually, this was
one of the fastest forays through a Bible book that I have ever led. But then …
it’s an awfully short book. Wonder how long the next one will take. Hmm.
Proverbs 11:24 says, “One person gives freely,
yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.”
Father,
thank you for the good news about Freddy. Amen.
