July 27 - “wake-iosity”

I was awake really early yesterday. My journey to full awakeness /wake-iosity / wake-arisciousness began around three when I first woke up. From then on it was dozing in fits and fiddles until I finally gave up and got up around five. At least it gave me the chance to get started on the Bible Study for Thursday night.

Chris did the walk. I did not. No extraordinary hip or back pain. I just wanted to take a day off. When she got back, we worked on a creatively crafty-type gift for a while. Not sure how it will turn out in the end.

After lunch we did some grocery store errands. Randall’s for Chris’ medicine. Walmart for everything else. We needed some general groceries, but we also did some snack shopping for our next road trip. Yep. It’s that time again. We leave on Saturday, if all works out. First stop is Waco. From there … parts unknown to the far, far, Frozen North. Well, at least the somewhat cooler North.

The LaMarque Vaughan’s came over last night. The plan was … pizza. Beyond that I guess it was just to hang out, because that’s what happened. Jachin got here first, and Freddy greeted him excitedly. Then she ran back to the front door, expecting the rest of the gang. Then back to Jachin. “Yep. There should be others with this one.” Back to the front door. She bounced back and forth, quite confused, four or five times. The rest of the crew finally arrived five or ten minutes later, so she finally settled down. That dog is not stupid …

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, quite simply, “pray continually,”

Father, thanks for the chance to hear Jachin talk about his mission trip to Boston. Keep on directing him. Amen.
