December 2 - “Strike three”

Thursday night (before the surprise “Back Party”), our Home Group folks filled giveaway bags for Bethlehem Street Market, the Seaside Church craft fair that Chris has headed up for a number of years. (PS. She is retiring. This is her last year heading it up. Hope someone else steps up). The good folks who were here were more than willing to jump in on whatever work they could do.

Yesterday morning Chris pulled out the bags left over from the last few years. Only 25 or so of them. We stuffed them with an ornament as well as the current info about Advent and Christmas Eve services. All totaled we now have 197 really nice bags ready to give to Street Market shoppers. Come get one on December 9th!

Chris took Sam into Texas for her doc appointment.  He wanted to do kind of an impromptu test, so it took longer than expected. Meanwhile, I started doing some carving out in the garage. It’s a long process, this one. I have no idea how long I was out there. I do know my watch began informing me that it was time to stand up. Strike one. Long before that warning, though, my back was already barking. Strike two. But the final straw? Strike three for my garage carving day? Freddy came out there to check on me. Must be time if she gets antsy. I gave up for the day. and the ladies got home not long after.

Chris and I made a quick trip to Randall’s to get some prescriptions for her. All went well - inside. When we checked out and stepped outside, the bottom dropped out of the sky. Massive rainstorm. By the time we got to the car we were drenched from head to toe. Had to change every stitch of clothing we had on. Thats one way to take a cold shower.

Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬ ‭says, For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Father, thank you for watching over us during our “damp” excursion. Amen.
