There was a lot of activity at church yesterday. Several young families were visiting, and each of them had kids. Lots of little kids. Preschoolers and babies. Exciting stuff. I also connected with a retired pastor and his wife. They have been to the sunrise service over the past few years and really love it. Lots of folks stayed for dinner on the grounds, too.
Back home I dozed in front of the TV as the Little League World Series was on. When I was awake, I also followed the Astros game on my phone. They weren’t on TV. Well, not regular TV, anyway. Some off-brand called Peacock. Probably a good thing, as it turned out. Bad guys won again. But every day there’s a Little League team that wins. And that’s plenty of reason for exuberance.
Psalms 68:19 says, Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.
Father, thanks for the new life those young families brought to Seaside yesterday. Keep ‘em comin’. Amen.
