We got our official “It’s time to pay” email from our travel agent yesterday. Guess we are now “officially” going on a transatlantic cruise to Spain early next year. Still a lot of little details to work out with her. My list of questions hit seven before I sent the return email authorizing the charge to our card. I’m sure there will be more.
The deck workers were back. They actually couldn’t really do anything until the last load of materials arrived, so they spent the morning cutting and stacking what wood they had in preparation for the delivery. Gotta hand it to them … they were quite efficient. The delivery finally arrived, and before lunch they had all of the deck boards laid out, waiting to be screwed in. Impressive.
Meanwhile, we cleaned the inside of the house to get ready for home group. I had vacuum duty again. Kind of a tradition, I guess. Chris did one of those super-deep dusting jobs. She even moved some of the knickknacks around on the bookshelves. She’s also quite impressive.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Father, thank you for my wife’s efficient streak. Sure makes things run smoother around here. Amen.
