November 19 - “Through the fog”

Very early start this time. I woke up at four so I could get Chris u up at five. We had to be on the road by six to get to Cuero by ten. Chris was meeting up with her siblings to take care of the paperwork regarding their brother’s passing.

The early morning part of the drive was kind of eerie. First we passed large fields covered with about three feet of fog. Above that was perfectly clear. Later the fog rose to include pretty much everything - a typical coastal fog experience. Chris was a master at the car controls, as usual.

We made it to Cuero with little fanfare. Some traffic slowdown occasionally, but we pulled in with 30 minutes to spare. The time with the funeral home went quite quickly. Signatures and initials and off to lunch. Cheryl treated us to some pretty good American fare at a brand new restaurant in Cuero called Aimee’s. Good stuff.

The siblings spent a few hours after lunch, sharing memories and rehashing crazy times. I think they all really needed it. Next steps will be figured out as they come, but these guys are gonna be OK.

Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ says, When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me. Don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

‭‭

Father, please keep Lee’s family close to each other as you draw them close to you. Amen.
