We got started back into the groove yesterday. We took a walk. Now, it’s been a minute since we did that, so we only went 1.7 miles. Also, Chris is having trouble with plantar fasciitis in a foot of hers. She made the whole distance, and she didn’t even limp. But she told me afterwards that it took every bit of concentration she could muster. She knew that limping would cause problems with her knees and hips.
Back home, after a Gatorade break, we hauled the remaining trash from the backyard to the street. Amazing just how big that patio area looks now.
Next on the agenda was Thanksgiving prep. Essentially, that meant a trip to Walmart to buy several turkeys and a few boxes of peanut oil to fry them in. There were a few other items we needed as well. And yes … bananas were among them.
We were going to make a Home Depot run, but we decided we could postpone that one. Instead we went over to Randall’s to pick up some prescriptions for each of us. Once again we mystified and amazed the tech at the counter with our interchangeable names. Always lots of fun.
Today we head back to Cuero so Chris can join with her siblings in signing the paperwork needed by the funeral home. Gotta be there by ten. So … early morning. Let’s go!
Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart.
Father, be with Chris and Mark and Cheryl as they deal with the arrangements for Lee today. Amen.
