November 22 - “Four one hundredths”

We added four one hundredths (just wanted to spell that out) to our walking distance yesterday. 1.74. My back was suffering from plumber-itis soreness. Chris is still having major issues with her plantar fasciitis as well and a toe on the opposite foot. Not to mention the “minor” issue of pains in her back. Those are usually indicative of cardiac issues. She is doing pretty well at listening to her body, though.

Once we both cooled down, we went back outside to get in the last of the Thanksgiving yardwork.  We deposited the bag of white rocked next to the side fence (which, by the way, matches our neighbors … sort of). Then we unloaded the bag of mulch into the front flowerbed. I think I even heard Chris comment, “Now it’s ready for the winter.”  That’s good, right?

Just as we were finishing up lunch, our contractor friend John came by. He was doing his final walk-through of the house painting/deck rebuilding job. Chris pointed out one minor place that needs to be repainted. I let him know about the one place inside where an old AC leak caused the paint to crack. He said it was a really minor deal. He put us on the list again. No hurry there.

Next on the agenda was finishing the Thanksgiving shopping list. Chris has that all down to a science.  And after a quick shower, we headed out to get those lists checked off.

First stop was the Christmas market at Moody Church. We checked out a few gifts, chatted with a few friends, and exited with a few books. A successful trip, wouldn’t you say?

We did make two other stops before going home. Kroger, because they had the best prices on hams and Blue Bell ice cream. And Randall’s, because they had my prescription, and we needed gas. I think we are all set to head to Bryan for the big semifinal football game.

Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭2‬ says, I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you.

‭‭

Father, please be with us on the road today. And especially tonight after the game. Amen.
