November 13 - “Here goes …”

The main deck guy was here early. The lumber company came by fairly early as well. They picked up the unused stuff and dropped off the materials for the railing caps. I think that’s the last step on the deck. Well, except for hauling away the huge mound of old wood. A trailer is supposed to magically appear at some point for that to occur. I know Chris can’t wait. She is aching to get her plants back into their proper living quarters. And I’m ready to throw some stuff away and arrange the patio furniture so that it is usable again.

We also spent some time poring over the emails from our travel agent concerning our transatlantic cruise to Spain. Everything is set except for our extra two days in Barcelona. The emails are a detailed rendering of what we would get for the prices we have to pay. Hey. This is all part of our 50th anniversary year-long celebration. Kids … here goes another chunk of your inheritance.

We took a baby step toward normalcy in the afternoon. We rehung the back porch lights. We still need to replace a dozen or so of them, but the wires are up.

Last night was a real treat. I mean literally a treat. After chicken enchilada pie the day before, Chris outdid herself. She made us some shrimp gumbo. I am officially spoiled.

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ says, Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.

Father, thank you for wife. You sure made her adept at spoiling. Amen.
