Chris had to visit the vampires yesterday. No. Had nothing to do with Halloween. She had to have a blood draw before her oncology appointment on Monday.
While she was gone Josh called his usual Friday checkin call. Some of the big news was that Caleb’s team won their last game big. “45’d” the other team. In their brand of football, when one team gets ahead by 45 points after halftime, the game is automatically over. Even better, the opponent was one of the powerhouses from the southern region. Bodes well as they head into the State playoff tournament.
The workers were here pretty much all morning working to stop the leak. I think the plan of attack has a great chance of solving the issue. We’ll see next time it rains. Contractor John came by to check on things. Maybe his magic touch will assure success.
I had a surprise visit from the City of Galveston. Actually it was Jesús, who stopped by to drop off candy for the trick or treaters. I was once again looking forward to whatever would happen.
We had to major a quick Walmart run. OK. I grabbed some bananas while we were there. I also got a little extra candy and some play-do for the first little one to show up dressed as a fire fighter.
My final preparation was to order and pick up pizzas for our party. We had ten or twelve folks there to help hand out candy. The Bibles we had went really quickly. We probably could have gone away at least 500 this year, probably more. Yep. That many kids.
I was dressed as Santa Claus and got several hugs from little ones. But I think Jachin may have been the most in demand. He had a Spider-Man mask on with a hoodie, so he looked eerily like the real thing. The myriad of youngsters dressed as Spider-Man approached him in awe. We finally shut down around 8:30. Good night.
Galatians 2:20 says, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Father, be with the kids and adults who received Bibles. Speak to them. Amen.
