It was a pretty good day at church. The crowd was smaller, but they made up for in spirit. Plus, it was dinner-on-the-grounds day. Can’t beat good food.
We left right after we ate. Cailyn had a soccer game in Pearland at 2, so we hightailed it on out of there.
On the way we had a phone call from Josh and Caleb. They had been eating at a Whataburger in Waco when someone approached and asked if he knew them from Galveston. He recognized Caleb from Seaside. They weren’t sure who he was, other than he gave the name Ray. He did say he would be in Galveston soon and looked forward to letting us know he saw our son and grandson. Bring it on, Ray.
Quick soccer game update. It was about 157 degrees out there. No shade (except for the umbrellas we brought). The two in-game water breaks lasted longer than halftime. But in spite of the treacherous elements, the good guys won 4-0. Way to go, girls. And of course, the best defender on the field was named Vaughan. Cailyn Vaughan.
Luke 1:37 says, For nothing will be impossible with God.
Father, thanks for keeping those girls safe in that heat yesterday. Amen.
