September 17 - “Athletic excursion”

Phase two of our athletic excursion began early on Saturday morning. We once again piled into the family car and made our way away from Waco in some random direction. The goal city this time was Gatesville. Not for the penitentiary, however. We settled in at a local park to watch Zakary partake in a cross-country track meet.

His team (Texas Wind) did pretty well. One of their guys finished in third out of a huge pack of starters. Zak said his goal has always been to not finish last. As he gets better, though, that goal has adjusted to either catching the guy in front of him or holding off the guy behind. He did a great job of the latter in this race.

In case you haven’t heard me say it lately, I’m really proud of my Waco  athletes (you, too, Luke and AnnaGrace).

Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭4‬ says, Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.

Father, thanks for watching over those runners yesterday. Amen.
