January 3 – “A little Bible miracle”

Just 35 brave souls out in the cold to attend church yesterday.  We were touching the low 40’s with a 30+ mile an hour wind.  It was cold.  We did have several new folks, and a few others back from their travels around the country.  There was one couple there who last visited about five years ago.  They came to the super bowl commercial party at our house that Sunday night.  The interesting thing about this return visit?  Five years ago she left her Bible at the church.  She asked about it on a whim, convinced that there was no way it would still be around.  Unbeknownst to her, Chris recognized them, and brought the forgotten Bible problem to me.  I remembered it right away, and the two of us went on a hunt in the three or four possible places it could still be.  Sur enough, Chris found it.  I brought it over just as the lady was asking Kel about it.  He saw me coming, grinned and said, “Why don’t you ask him?”  She was flabbergasted  that we still had it set aside for her.  I have to admit, I never thought we would reunite those two.  But it was pretty special to her.  It was a gift from her husband.  Glad we could play a part in a happy reunion.

Headed to the hospital early this morning with Chris for yet another test.  This one has to do with measuring her breathing.  May as well check that one off the testing list as well …

Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Father, please give Chris a good result today on this test.  Not sure what “good result” looks like, but she’s once again in your hands.  Amen.
