Chris had a hair salon appointment yesterday. Sounds so … exotic … so elegant … when you say it that way, doesn’t it? She’s all set for Christmas, hair-wise. Looks great, of course. Meanwhile, I hit the books to get ready for home group on Thursday. It will be the last Bible study of the year for that group. We are finishing up a few of the lesser-known judges in that book, saving the really big name for next year.
In
the afternoon we headed back up to the church.
Chris was meeting with another vendor to receive her application and
money to be in the Bethlehem Street Market craft fair on Saturday. And of course there was plenty of other
last-minute work. We still had some
tables and chairs to move. She also
re-allocated some sites based on the newest sign-ups. And she couldn’t help herself. She swept another room. I managed to take the mop from her this time,
though. Speaking of more vendors, we did
some scrambling and managed to find a spot for all of the folks we have signed
up. Problem is … the weather report is
not so good for Saturday. Looks like it
might rain. So Plan B or C or Q or
whatever letter we are on says that we should probably clear out a bunk room to
have available in case we have to move our outside vendors indoors. That task, however, was not in our wheelhouse
of capability. However … later last
night we received a text from Lauren.
The bunk room was completely cleared out and Cathy was in the final
stages of vacuuming. Lauren’s comment
was, “We did church CrossFit.” I guess
you did, girl. Those bunks are
heavy. The room looks great now … and empty. All that’s left is taping it off in booth
sites.
Time
to celebrate. We watched a Hallmark
Christmas movie. Woohoo for us. Adventurous as ever.
Matthew
5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before other, that they
may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Father,
thank you for people like Lauren and Cathy.
Bless them for their commitment to you and your work. Amen.
