September 5 - “Danced a little jig”

We were back at the desk again this morning. We planned to use the available hour or so before church to separate the photo prints we picked up. Chris wanted to divide them by each day of our vacation. Problem was, we got so engrossed in the process that we ended up being late for church. But the pastor recognized us when we entered. I mean, recognized us … publicly. He said, “Hi, Mom and Dad. Glad you came.”  Everyone was turning around looking at us anyway. Chris was a bit embarrassed. I just danced a little jig. Literally.

Speaking of church, it was good to see the McSpaddens there. We know them from our Arlington days. They were vacationing in the area. Always good to see old friends.

The LaMarque Vaughan’s came over to watch the Astros game. It was a thriller. Good Guys won 9-1. Guess that’s not much of a thriller, is it?  We all had Sno cones and leftover pizza. Great and robustly healthy lunch and supper, wouldn’t you say?  When they left, we found ourselves with an extra body. Noa spontaneously requested to spend the night with us. We watched a few episodes of Dude perfect before Family worship. Nice, pleasant evening.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100:2‬ says, “Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”

Father, thank you for the chance to see the McSpaddens again. Help them have a safe trip back home. Amen.
