We had a solid group of folks at church yesterday. I forgot to count them, so I’ll have to ask Chris when she wakes up if she did. It was mostly home folks, though. I noticed a few grandkids with grandparents, but otherwise it was pretty much all Seasiders. Kel tried to make the computer switch top the new system. Not a good thing to do when you have to “go live” in just an hour or so, but the old one gave up the ghost this past week. And as it happened, we had some technical difficulties. The picture as projected wasn’t fitting onto the screen. Or to the wall, for that matter. And after some pretty intense struggling, the computer locked up entirely. When that came back, the program wouldn’t project without adding unwanted little “extras.” Like every time they changed screens, we were shown evidence of which screen we were using. We finally had to start anyway, and just trust that the songs were familiar enough and that Kel could talk his way through the visual aids that wouldn’t be there. Stewart made a few more stabs at it as we moved ahead, but it just became too annoying, so we turned it off completely.
All
good, right? Well, no. Then Kel’s head microphone started acting up. He ended up taking that off as well. He ended up giving us an impromptu reminder
that in the midst of change, when God is doing something, Satan does his best
to intrude upon the action and cause chaos.
So … keep on moving, Lord. We’ll
figure out the tech stuff another time.
Isaiah
40:8 says, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God
endures forever.”
Father,
we do want to be a part of what you have planned and are already doing at
Seaside. Help us to ignore the chaos and
focus on you. Amen.
