I went to water exercise yesterday. Chris did not. In fact, she emphatically did not. She was awake in plenty of time, so that wasn’t it. Oh, no. It was just that she was positive the water would be too cold. For her tastes … she was probably not too far from wrong, anyway. A bit cool, but not anything like the last time she went. She still got her exercise in, though. She walked a couple of miles while I was gone.
We
had an appointment with our finance guy.
We had some questions about our retirement stuff. We got some good info that actually helped me
relax a little about our future prospects.
We just need to make a minor change after I actually retire that will
hopefully provide what we need monthly.
Last
night we took Jachin to his baseball game in Houston. He played left field and did some
pitching. The game had several
highlights. Jachin’s squad nearly turned
a triple play in the first inning. If the
shortstop had made a decent throw to first it would have happened. They also executed a beautiful, perfectly executed
suicide squeeze bunt to score a run. Oh,
and the game-ending pick off at second by the catcher that led to a wild pickle
play out was pretty good, too. And the official
final score was 3-2 in favor of the good guys.
Best part about the game, though?
Christina was watching the video feed on the team’s phone app. That, and several people asked us for updates
on Kel and Christina. The coach even
came over to tell me that the team prayed for them in the huddle.
So
Christina. She is still in ICU, but she
seems to be getting some better. Well
enough, as I said to watch the game. She
is also well enough to get a little perturbed that they never can seem to find
a vein to draw blood. That’s my girl. Kel sent up some things she asked for by way
of her nurse aunt. He managed to sneak
into the care package a few messages from Noa and Ezra to Mom. I have a hunch that will lift her spirits a
bit. Still no word on when she may be
moved to a regular room or get released.
Someone set up a meal train for the guys at home. I think anyone can get in on that action by
checking out the website here: https://mealtrain.com/3dqe8y. Let me know if that works. I’m not too good at those sorts of tech-y things.
Colossians
3:16 says, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach
and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the
Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
Father,
thank you that Christina is feeling up to checking in on Jachin’s game. Thank you for the expressions of concern at
the game. And thanks for inspiring folks
to set up that meal train thing. Amen.
