We had a pretty good group at church. Several new folks were in attendance. Always a plus. One just moved to Sea Isle, so she will find some neighbors here. Cathy and Lauren were still vacationing with the hot air balloons. Lauren sent a picture of the only balloon that lost control and ran into a power line and caught on fire. It was shaped like a massive head of Satan. Hmm. We did miss Shawn and Kel and Christina and Noa and Ezra who were dealing with Covid issues.
Our
latest update on Christina’s bout with Covid is this. She has no evidence of the potential blood
clots that could form, so that’s a good thing.
It means they can focus efforts on dealing with the pneumonia that
developed in both lungs. She was still
in ICU last night, but did send out some texts.
She even replied to the ones I sent with one of those little heart
emojis. Heart ya back, Christina.
Kel
finally managed to find his way to the clinic for an antibody infusion. Nathan picked him up and took him to the same
Hospitality ER that Christina had been to.
The doc there told him that ordinarily they wouldn’t have dealt with him,
because he didn’t meet their protocol qualifications. But he had just read over Christina’s chart,
so he made an exception. They made a
place for him to lie down, and got the iv started. He was also a bit dehydrated, so they dealt
with that issue. He was sent home with
some more antibiotics, and he was told to start taking aspirin to avoid blood
clots.
The
kids appear to be doing fine. Kel said
he is considering renaming Ezra, Chaos.
Guess that means the sweet little tyke is … normal. He and Noa and Josiah are spending their days
playing and being kids. The homeschool
co-op made some special allowance so Micah could take his two exams today at
his house. Something about a zoom
proctor. Sounds like some kind of new
superhero. Jachin has a big test today
as well, so the news that Mom and Dad are a bit more settled will certainly
help their concentration.
Keep
those prayers coming.
Romans
15 says, “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach
us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement
they provide we might have hope.”
Father,
please keep your eyes on this family that is so special to us, as well as on
Shawn and the many others who are dealing with medical issues. There are plenty of other pressing stressors in
life without adding illness to the mix. I
guess by that I mean, grant the rest of us peace as we watch over our loved
ones. Amen.
