I finally finished the new John Grisham book that I started on the way to Waco. I thought of more than a few surprise twists and turns it could have taken at the end, just to make it a tad more interesting. But overall, it was a pretty good read. Oh, the title? The Judge’s List.
We
started a new jigsaw puzzle. It’s the
evil one with four different edges, squares within squares. Out of a thousand pieces, over six hundred
are edge pieces. Not very helpful. I started out trying to piece together the
word, “Wildflowers.” Needless to say,
that’s what the puzzle consists of. Lots
of wildflowers. Did I mention it was evil?
We
stayed inside all day. It was a rainy,
cold, nasty day on the Island. Not the 6
below zero in Minnesota or the iced-over freeways in Dallas. But it was definitely Galveston cold and
nasty. 60 degrees and raining. And in the end the temperature dropped all
the way into the 40’s. Nope. That ought not to happen on a tropical island
paradise.
I
received an email from our new tax accountant last night. She needs some more information before she
can finish out the forms. Here’s hoping
she can work some magic and keep it down to a minimum …
Isaiah
55:1-2 says, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who
have no money, come, buy and eat! Come,
buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and
your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest
of fare.”
Father,
please be with our new tax lady. Give
her wisdom to get our taxes done properly and quickly. Amen.
