February 11 – “I smell … soap”

Chris was off to cardiac rehab, bright and early.  Well, it was before 8 when she left.  Not sure if “bright” would be an accurate word to describe her demeanor.  While she was gone, I did the house cleaning for her that she usually does before home group.  Yes, even the bathrooms.  That cheered her up some when she got home.  I guess.  As she entered the house she said, “I smell … soap.”  I’ll take that as excitement.  She did let me know she appreciated it, though.

That new jigsaw puzzle is coming along.  I completed the sky and the close-up greenery.  Still have some of the far-off trees to go.  But now it’s time to tackle the water.  It’s kind of like the surface of the earth.  The vast majority of the picture is water of some shade or another.  And in this case, lots of water punctuated here and there by sailboats that all look alike – little specks of white with tiny white or black lines above them.

We made our way to Randall’s for Chris’ prescription that the doc told her to never miss a dose of.  It was quick and easy this time.  And relatively painless.  Of course we DID have to pay for it …

We also stopped by Walmart for the rest of the supplies for Sunday night.  Super Bowl Commercial Party 2022 is almost ready to go.  Just have one little tweak to the games prep …

We studied a very weird story at home group last night.  Judges chapter 17.  Some guy named Micah sets up his own religion of sorts.  Not the prophet Micah.  He was pretty solidly Hebrew.  This guy was … different.  We’ll do chapter 18 next week.  The rest of the Micah story …

Isaiah 25:1 says, “Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.”

Father, thank you for the determination of our home group to stick to it with us.  It is taking a long time to walk through the Bible with them, but they seem to be learning.  Amen.
