November 28 – “Gotta love flexibility …”

Sounds like we are once again heading back to old school for church on Sunday.  Heard yesterday from our worship pastor about the issues we have been having with our projector.  Looks to be an issue with the cord connecting the projector with the computer.  He ordered a new one.  In the meantime we will revert to running off copies of the song words and visual verse.  Gotta love flexibility …

The rainy season finally arrived in Galveston.  We had a few sprinkles yesterday, but it looks like today will be a full day of it.  At least in the eyes of the professional weather forecasters it will be.  We know a certain mailman who thinks it may not be as bad as all that.  And mail men have been known to out-forecast the forecasters.  We’ll be watching with bated breath.  Why?  We are scheduled for a big family photo shoot this afternoon at four.  Outside.  On the beach.  Plan B is something at a Christmas tree farm in Manvel tomorrow at two.  That’s a quick turnaround after church in the morning.  Gotta love flexibility …

Yesterday was pretty chaotic, as usual.  The Waco cousins finally made it.  And of course the LaMarque cousins were already here waiting for them.  Cailyn got here after a while, too.  All ten of them were flying around here for most of the day.  It was fun chaos, though.  Josh and Luke practiced some football plays in hopes that the Turkey Bowl went on as scheduled.  Cailyn, Noa, and Ezra all developed creative role-play games.  The bed of the truck became a food truck.  Ezra delivered the food (including ice cream, he made sure to tell me) using the dolly he found in the garage and a stack of empty boxes.  AnnaGrace could be seen gliding about on the riding toy she found to her liking.  The new location for video games worked well, and the office was the site for many a contest all day long (and not just for Jachin, Micah, Zak, Josiah, and Caleb.  The little guys had their turns as well).  Gotta love flexibility …

Today promises to be just as wild and crazy, rain or no rain.  Guess I’d better finish up and get out of the gaming room … er, office before the thundering hordes arrive …

Numbers 6:24-26 says, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Father, thanks for this rain, even if it means no photo session this time.  Gotta love flexibility.  It is a gift from you.  Amen.
