February 8 - “A Day with the Good Ol’ GP’s”

Back on the road again. Wait. Sadly, not that way. Maybe soon, but not today. I just mean Chris and I went for our power walk again … on the road. Mile and a half. I’m trying to get my hip accustomed to that distance before moving up a level. Yes. It’s like being a character in a video game for senior citizens. You never win. You just keep adding a little more and then a little more and then … well, you get the idea.

Not long after we got back, our house guests for the day arrived. Josiah, Noa, and Ezra came over to hang out with us while Mom and Dad took big brother Micah to visit a college. University of Houston, actually.

We worked on the latest jigsaw puzzle for a while. Noa and Ezra were amazing, too. I also showed Ezra our pictures of a real volcano in Hawaii, as well as our pictures from Pearl Harbor. Always nice to see kids excited about learning.

Meanwhile, Josiah mowed our backyard for us. Did a great job, too. When he finished mowing and weed-eating, he and the younger two swept the porch and then helped Nana move plants to their designated Spring resting places.

After some lunch, we took the kids over to the playground at the airport. It’s certainly one of the most popular on the Island, so they were excited to be the only ones there for most of the time. They played several versions of tag, but the most popular proved to be Floor is Lava tag. That’s where no one could touch the ground, but still had to avoid tags. Pretty creative approach to an old school game.

Back home, the kids had some ice cream. Then they settled in to watch some Ninja Warrior competitions. Mom got here around four to pick them up. Great day for the kiddos … I hope.

Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ says, For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.

Father, thank you for those youngsters of ours. Keep them safe and healthy. Amen.
