November 18 - “Battle Royale”

Chris and I went over our selections for excursions for our Hawaii trip. We have to book them this weekend when we go to Arlington to hang out with the Winkles and Huntley’s. The trip is getting closer. 139 days to go.

Christi went out and got some pizzas for lunch. Easy way to feed five growing boys (Micah and Josiah spent the night) and a gorgeous little girl. The rest of the LaMarque clan arrived shortly after lunch.

Meanwhile, the big boys broke out their air soft guns and got a battle royale going in the ravine. They blasted each other for an hour or so then came in for a long session of video games. I spent the time reading and dozing. Not saying what percentage of each was involved.

The ladies took all the Littles to the park for a while. Chris used the opportunity to get in a two mile walk. I was proud of her. Meanwhile, I drove over and picked up Kel at their B&B, and we returned for supper back at Josh’s. What else would we have but ………. Mexican food. This time we had some pretty good tamales from HEB. Amazing how much variety you can get from the same genre of food.

Last night was all about basketball. Zak started with practice at 3 or 4. That was the easy part. At 7, Luke had practice in a little community about 15 or 20 minutes away. Caleb, however, had a game not far from the house that started at 8. I went with Josh to watch Luke practice. We met up with everyone else at the game after practice was over. Caleb’s team was down by 18 points at one point but came back, only to fall just short at 37-29. Caleb played his usual stifling defense.  He played the entire fourth quarter with four fouls.  Good game, guys.

Luke 6:28 says, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”

Father, please be with the LaMarque crew on their way back home today. Amen.
