April 10 – “No texture today”

No texture today.  It was supposed to be done today.  But we found out around 3:00 that the sheetrock "fix it" guys made some mistakes.  Then the tape and bed guys covered them up.  Nobody seemed to notice anything.  I know I sure didn't.  Chris saw one place she was going to ask about.  But when the contractor got there, he saw everything.  Cracks where there should be tape.  Bulges where it should be straight.  He even poked his finger through the wall in one spot to make sure they saw what he wanted changed.  All progress is on hold until the sheetrock guys come back and make it right to the contractor's satisfaction.

Kind of reminds me of sin.  Sometimes it just isn't something everybody can see.  Sometimes it's even easy to hide it.  You know, you're the only one who know what's going on, right?  Well, except maybe your spouse on some things.  And maybe that one friend you confided in (or you sinned with).  But when the "Contractor" (Jesus) gets involved, he sees everything.  You just can't hide anything from him.  And he won't let up until you get right to his satisfaction.

That's enough.

Matthew 6:5-6 says "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Father, thank you for loving me in spite of my feeble attempts to keep secrets from you.  Amen.
