February 9 - “Rapid change”

We had every good intention of heading into Texas to watch the LaMarque Vaughan kids (and Kel) compete in a karate tournament, and then Ezra play in his football game. We hit a bit of a snag, however. The causeway heading off the island was narrowed down to one lane, and traffic was backed up enough to make the 20 minute drive estimate escalate rapidly to over an hour.

So … speaking of rapid change … that’s what we did before we ever left the house. Changed our plans, that is. Thanks for the heads up are in order for fire fighter Moose, by the way. His post warned us about the tie-up. We stayed home.

As it turned out, it was probably a good thing we didn’t leave. I got a text from our contractor letting me know that he was sending a crew over to do the eaves repairs. That means painting the house is next on that outdoor agenda. Woohoo. Can’t wait. I suppose. Sigh.

I spent the better part of the afternoon going through all the files I have that are related to Sam and her estate. I was able to pay a few bills and get things ready for the next phases: real estate and further compiling accounts. It has really been some tedious work. Not close to finished yet, either.

‭‭Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ says, For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Father, please help the get that road construction done soon. And meanwhile, keep folks safe out there. Amen.
