We’re getting used to these early morning adventures. Chris had yet another doctor appointment up in Texas. This one was a regular check-in with her surgeon. Aaaannd … all’s well. See her again in a year.
Since we were in Texas anyway, we jumped across the busy street to see what stores might be on the other side. We saw a James Avery. Good news there. It is much closer than the one we have been going to. We didn’t go in there, though. But we did go in Super Target. Mainly because we have a gift card and we wanted to get some steps in. We didn’t buy anything, but we scoped out luggage for a possible future purchase.
Back home we grabbed some lunch and watched the next episode of Mr. Beast Games. Kind of an evil show, but fun to watch because of the sheer outrageousness.
Next we went to the bank to begin the tedious task of creating new accounts and transferring others. Phew. And we’ve only just begun.
Speaking of begun … we also went to the post office. We had Sam’s mail switched over to our address. The clerk there was quite thorough. She asked if we had the letter stating I was the executor. I opened the folder to show her, and she hurriedly exclaimed, “Oh, I don’t want to see it. I just had to know you have it .” Well, OK then.
From there we stopped in at Walmart. Had to get some more fixin’s for Super Bowl Commercial Party chili. Also … bananas.
Proverbs 18:21 says, Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Father, thanks for you for the bank guy who was so helpful. Bless him for his compassion. Amen.
