October 3 – “Another nifty app”

No walk for us yesterday.  Chris had to go into Texas to do some babysitting with the LaMarque crew.  Christina had a dentist appointment … for herself.  That was unusual.  It didn’t involve any of her children.  Hey, Christina.  Hope you enjoyed your alone time … at the dentist.  Ouch.

Meanwhile, back at the home front.  I didn’t leave the house at all.  In fact, I didn’t leave my desk for longer than a minute or two the whole time she was gone.  It was focus on the Sunday teaching day at the Vaughan ranch.  We are finally on the final chapter of the book we are studying (Hosea).  And finally the mood of the prophet changes from angry, here comes judgment to some pretty hopeful promises.  That’ll be a refreshing change.  Now I have to be praying in earnest about where to go next.

When Chris got home we went through our information about our cruise to the Panama Canal in January.  We made our final payment, so we began to get all the details.  And they were all coming at once.  Insurance, cabin confirmation, even a note from the travel agent that she was still on the look-out for an opening in a balcony room.  The insurance was an interesting one.  The document they sent said it was 58 pages.  I hesitated to print that much out.  We already have a veritable book of documents as it is.  Chris noticed, however, that they have developed a nifty app for your phone so you can have instant access to the document without having to rifle through papers.  I downloaded it, but the policy didn’t take effect until today, so it wasn’t available yet.  We’ll see how that looks later on.  With this one behind us, now we can set our sights on having the truck painted.  Let the savings begin … er … continue.

Galatians 5:25 says, “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

Father, help us with our decisions that involve money.  Painting the truck.  What to do on this next cruise.  Paying our bills.  All that stuff.  Thanks for trusting us with the stuff you have loaned us.  We’re trying to be good stewards.  Amen.
