June 28 – “Really good”

We had a really good Zoom interview with the candidate for co-pastor at Seaside.  The team had some really good questions, and the candidate had some really good answers as well as some really good questions of his own.  He spoke about his passion for discipleship and his commitment to family ministry.  And it was not lost on them that they would not have to change the marquis or church stationery or even business cards.  That’s helpful.  Of course you have figured out by now that the candidate was our teaching pastor and my son, Kel.

When all was said and done, the team was confident that Kel was the way to go for Seaside into the future.  Now the team has to get together and hash out the details of what package to offer and sketch out what the transition will look like over the six months or so that he will be working with me before I retire.  Exciting times ahead.

Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Father, give the team and Kel clarity and assurance as they work to come together.  Amen.
