Plus one. No, I’m not talking about getting a date for some boring gala. I mean we added one mile to our morning walk. Challenge Day - three miles … completed. Check.
It was also bath day for Freddy. She is quite the sly one when bath time comes. Neither of us says anything. Chris goes about some usual household tasks, but slowly prepares the bathroom in between. By the time she comes to get Freddy … that crazy/smart pup is cowering at my feet, under my desk.
Yesterday Freddy took it up a notch. I realized she was at my feet, so I move back a bit to give her some room. And pow! Before I knew it, she was snuggling in my lap. And Chris was nowhere in sight. But, when Chris rounded the corner to collect her, the shivering began. We still haven’t figured out how she just knows. Some kind of mystery/canine instinct, I guess. I’m impressed.
2 Peter 3:9 says, The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.
Father, thank you for the wonder that comes with having a pet friend. Amen.
