It was Blood Day once again for Chris. Of course that meant oncology appointment was to soon follow in about a week. And … the afternoon before bloodwork Chris got one of THOSE phone calls. “The doc won’t be here on the day of your appointment, so we switched you to … an hour and a half after bloodwork.” Thanks for that. I guess.
Waiting for the oncology appointment, we saw some old friends, Herb and Joanna Reedy. Great to see you guys!
All was well with Chris’ appointment, by the way. They signed her up for a three months follow up. Check.
Next we had to leave the island. My turn. I had a regular eye doc check up. That meant getting dilated, of course. I didn’t need new glasses, but I was offered the golden opportunity to get a laser shot in one eye to prevent what she called a”secondary cataract.” We made an appointment to have that done, but the date is not until the end of September. Now we can adequately discuss whether I really need it or not. We’ll see.
On a comical note … I had just turned off my phone and was returning it to my pocket. The tech chose that very moment to ask, “When is your birthday?” Before I could reply, a mysterious voice from my phone interrupted with, “I don’t know the answer to that.” Well, she wasn’t talking to you, so stop butting in.
On the way home we made not one but two Joyride Runs. Well, attempts at runs, anyway. The first Target didn’t have the kind we really wanted to try, but we did get some watermelon wedges. Chris liked them. The second Target didn’t have what we wanted either. Looking for some Gummy Busters. Anybody seen any?
Philippians 2:3 says, Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
Father, thanks for the good word on Chris. Help us as we decide about the laser procedure on my eye. Amen.
