Back to two miles on our walk yesterday. Pretty good send-off going into what promises to be an off-week next week. Why an off week, you may ask?
Temperatures are expected to be in the 30’s all week with rain or whatever else those clouds can muster. One silver lining … it’s not supposed to freeze here, so there’s that.
After some lunch we had to make a quick Walmart run. We needed to replenish our supply of fruit before the evil cold weather hits. We tried again to use our last gift card. That made four tries. Still didn’t work. This time we were directed to call 1-800-WALMART. What else would that number be? The lady was very nice, and gave me something new to try, but that didn’t work. Got an error code: “Technical difficulties. Try again later.” Her only other option was to go back to the store, have them call and verify that they have tried everything and it still won’t work, then maybe they can transfer it to a different gift card. Right. Meanwhile, “Wait an hour and try the technical difficulties approach again.”
Acts 2:38 says, “Repent,” Peter said to them, “and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Father, help us stay as warm as possible next week. Amen.
