January 18 - “A Texas Trip”

Our day began up in Texas again. Not quite so far this time. Cailyn had a soccer game in League City, about 35 minutes away. They played a great game against a team that had already beaten them earlier in the year. The bad guys did win, but only 1-0. Proud of you girls!

After the game we hit the rest of our Texas list. Started out with lunch at Subway.  Might as well have been an authentic Mexican food place. The staff could barely understand English, and spoke even less. We managed to get something to eat, though.

Next stop was James Avery. Chris wanted to get the charm she received at Christmas put into her bracelet. Unexpectedly, it should be ready this afternoon. We can pick it up after Ezra’s football game.

Finally, we swung in at Hobby Lobby. That was quite a trip. We did learn that our tires could handle curbs just fine. Ouch. But inside we garnered a 40 percent off on the fabric stuff Chris needed. The was definitely a score.

We called Josh back on our way home. He had attempted a call while we were in Hobby Lobby. I missed it. He was just chillin’ out, helping AnnaGrace play a video game. They had big plans for last night. AG and Luke were going to parents night out at church. Caleb and Zak were going to a friend’s basketball game. Meanwhile, Josh and Christi were planning to sneak away to a movie - Wicked. When I told Josh that I had heard there was a lot of singing involved, he may or may not have retorted something along the lines of “Sounds like there may be some napping involved as well.”  I’m with you, Josh.

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ says, Don’t consider yourself to be wise; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

Father, please keep those footballin’ youngsters safe this afternoon. Amen.
