January 19 - “Doing the draping”

Well, the winter winds are apparently on their way. Yesterday we gathered together all the tropical-weather loving plants. Push them against the house or into the garage. Pull out the spare sheets and extra bricks. Do the draping maneuver over the newly formed clusters, as well as the hardier (we hope) ones already planted in the ground. Thanks to Janell we even have some coverings created especially for just an occasion as this. These bushes should be ready for the cold. Not so sure how they will do if ice shows up, though.

Early in the afternoon we went to a football game. That’s “football“ not “futbol”.  Ezra was playing in his very first flag football game. Gotta be there for a career starter like that. Especially since his Daddy and older brother Micah were his coaches. As it turned out, the good guys won this one. I have no idea what the score was, but the little guys were certain of victory. It was a fun game to watch.

After the game we went to James Avery to pick up Chris’ bracelet. Then we stopped at Michael’s to check it out, and then over to Barnes and Nobles. Pretty much struck out at both places, but they were in the same parking lot as James Avery, so all was good.

Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭ says, Where can I go to escape Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there. If I live at the eastern horizon or settle at the western limits, even there Your hand will lead me; Your right hand will hold on to me.

Father, thank you for the sheer fun those youngsters had playing football. Amen.
