January 8 - “Spring?”

Another cold, blustery day on our tropical island paradise. In the 30’s again. Didn’t even want to look at the wind chill. I just went outside to put the trash out. Of course that led to my noticing another tree branch down. Thankfully, this one was leaning against the roof, so it didn’t hit the car. That’s two big ones in as many days. Glad that wind is finally settling down. Of course the latest report has torrential downpours headed here for Thursday and Friday. Yay.

We were back at the Spring cleaning again. Sounds kinda silly to say “Spring” when it is obviously full-on winter out there. But at least we were indoors. We cleaned out both of the closets in our bedroom. Well, I finished mine. Chris is over halfway through hers. But then, hers is over twice the size of mine. It really is starting to look great in there, though.

Last night we went to Santa Fe to watch Cailyn’s boyfriend Gavin play basketball.  I misread the game time. I thought it said 4:45 I got the “45” right. But it was an hour later. Oops.

All was well, though. In a real nail-biter of a game, the good guys came out on top 40-37. They had an eleven point lead with just four minutes to go when the coach took Gavin out to rest. Things almost went south, but the coach put Gavin back in, and his 17 points and tenacious defense helped the team hang on for the win. Way to go, Gavin! We’re proud of you.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭8‬:‭35‬ says, So Philip proceeded to tell him the good news about Jesus, beginning from that Scripture.

Father, thank you for watching over those boys on the court tonight. Keep them safe and healthy. Amen.
