March 2 – “Not bad at all …”

We have officially crossed over into March.  That means, of course, that Chris has Spring fever.  She really wants to get outside and work in the flower beds – just get her hands dirty, I guess.  They may have to incorporate that somehow into her physical therapy routine.  That starts in earnest tomorrow.  I guess my next project (in conjunction with Nathan) will be the trellis in the back yard to hold up the big vine with the blue flowers.  I can’t keep the names of those things straight back there.

Church went really well yesterday.  Afterwards I had a talk with a new lady who was trying to describe sensing the Holy Spirit’s presence in the service and the apparently evident call of God on my life.  Fascinating.  Then one of our long-time guys sought to verbalize his understanding of the different aspects of the trinity that he experiences when he prays for others (to God the Father), when he sees someone come to salvation (the awesome work of Jesus that makes that possible), and when he experiences guidance in his day to day life (the work of the Holy Spirit).  Very insightful.  And then there was the guy who approached Chris and asked, “What’s happening here?  Why are all these people coming - even the ones from the neighborhood?”  Chris replied, “Maybe it’s a God thing.” Indeed.

We had Cailyn with us for the day (and she did a great job singing with the praise team, by the way), so after a lunch with some Seasiders at a local barbecue place, we dropped her off at softball practice.  We raced home to change clothes and back to the fields.  Last night she joined us for a breakfast at supper of bacon and eggs before her Mom arrived to pick her up.  Not a bad day.  Not bad at all …

Matthew 5:5 says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”

Father, thank you for curious worshippers and spiritual discoveries.  Amen.
