June 26 – “Day Four”

Adventure rec another kind
In the chapel basement find
Climbing walls and big foam pit
There within a chasm sit

We are shaped a unique way
For our role to do each day
Jesus showed humility
Just by being him, you see

Left his glory all behind
So us humans life could find
Then he lived it day to day
Washed some feet to show the way

Peter didn’t like that much
First protested Jesus’ touch
Jesus said it must be had
Peter backtracked, “Oh, my bad”

Hiked forever just to see
Jason shooting arrows, whee!
Grace was off to play softball
Kara’s games were outside, all

What’s that balloon our kids see?
Oh, you mean the one that’s green?
Can I see it? Touch it Tickle?
Hey!  You’re stalking a big pickle!

Many things idols can be
On what lasts use energy
What’s the work for God, he meant?
Just believe in him he sent

Chinese food brings hunger back
Lasting satisfaction lacks
True fulfillment? Only Christ
That’s why he’s the Bread of Life

Balance on one foot, it’s rough
Jase and Kara proved they’re tough
Then we wiped each other’s feet
So humility we meet

Time for some encouragement
With positive bombardment
Jason heard of leadership
Grace, her joy and riskiness

Jeremiah 9:23-24says, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,’ declares the Lord.”

Father, I am constantly amazed that you sacrificed so much for people who seem to appreciate it so little.  Help me to follow your example.  Amen.
