March 6 – “Christ Together Galveston update”

I attended another meeting of the Christ Together Galveston the other day.  That’s a group of primarily pastors who come together to pray and coordinate efforts to encourage unity and to spread the gospel in our city.  There was even a new pastor from Texas City who attended as well.  We spent some time praying for him and his ministry and the part he might play in spreading the idea of coming together in unity on the Mainland.

And speaking of spreading … it seems our little group is part of a much bigger movement across the country with the same goals.  One of our guys went to a meeting of our Houston counterparts.  While there he was approached by folks from all over the country.  One of them even shared a vision he had had recently.  He saw a wave of warrior angels rising from the Gulf of Mexico and marching across Texas and Northward across the United States.  At least two of the guys in our Galveston group have shared something similar as well.  Galveston as the focal point, the initiator, of a wave of turning to God that sweeps our nation.  Certainly gives you something to pray about, doesn’t it?

The group also talked about plans for a city wide Servolution the first weekend in May.  That’s where people from the ten or twelve churches now involved here on the Island get together and do service projects on the Saturday and Sunday of that weekend.  Friday will be a time of united worship, and Thursday, which is also National Day of Prayer, will be a time of concentrated prayer.

Lots of activity around here on the spiritual front.  Watch what God is doing …

Joel 2:12 says, “’Even now,’ declares the Lord, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.’”

Father, thank you for the way you are moving around here.  And thank you for the determination of this group of pastors who just want to see your will done.  Amen.
