July 4 – “A House Full …”

Quick post today.  House full of grandchildren.

Spent the morning yesterday mowing and edging and finally got to trimming the tree in the backyard.  It had entwined itself around the cables for our television and telephone (internet) connections.  Took a long time, but I finally got all the wires released and even replaced the hooks connecting them to the house.  Just in time, too.  We had a tropical system sweep through last night.  Lots of rain and thunder and lightning.  Great for a cousins sleepover event.  They named the storm (not the Weather Center … the cousins did the naming).  In case you were wondering, the name is Tropical Storm Nathan in honor of their Uncle’s birthday.

Speaking of Nathan, Cailyn made him some brownies yesterday for his birthday.  He had to work, so we took them up to the station.  Needless to say, he (and the rest of the crew) was happy to receive them.

Time to prepare for the onslaught of the rest of the cousins …

Psalms74:12-17 says,
12 But you, O God, are my king from of old;
you bring salvation upon the earth.
13 It was you who split open the sea by your power;
you broke the heads of the monster in the waters.
14 It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan
and gave him as food to the creatures of the desert.
15 It was you who opened up springs and streams;
you dried up the ever flowing rivers.
16 The day is yours, and yours also the night;
you established the sun and moon.
17 It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth;
you made both summer and winter.

Father, thank you for this house full of cousins again.  Amen.
