June 8 – “Cramming it all in”

Yesterday consisted of a hot and somewhat painful start to the day.  We worked in the yard.  I did the mowing and weedeating.  Chris took care of sweeping and … poop patrol.  All that because we were expecting visitors.  Josh and Christi and their youngsters came down to celebrate Zakary’s birthday.  And how, you may ask, was that celebration to unfold?

First would be a trip to the puttputt golf course with Jachin and Micah and their church youth group.  Next came the always highly anticipated cousin’s sleepover.  The highlight of the trip, however, is about to happen as we speak.  In fact as soon as I can hit send on this post.  Zak’s Dad and Uncle Nathan arranged for Zak and Micah and me and Josh to go out on the bay for a morning of fishing.  Pretty special birthday, eh?  Details on any catch to come in the future …

Psalms 68:3 says, “But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.”

Father, thank you for any chance to get some fishing in.  Come with us.  Amen.
