We couldn’t stand it. We couldn’t just wait until Sunday to see it
then. Oh, no. We were impatient. So … we went and snuck a peak. At what?
The new countertops were delivered the other day to the church. They are not installed yet. That will take another workday to accomplish
for sure. But they are in house. On top of some bunks as a matter of
fact. And they look really nice. Can’t wait to see them on top of those cabinets
where they belong.
While we were there I decided to play
librarian. We have quite a few books of
all kinds that have been donated, and they were just tossed onto the shelves
when we moved them into the office area to create a large group meeting
room. Some of them were loosely arranged
- into children’s books and reference books, mainly. Others were mixed in in random places. I managed to wade through all of the free-standing
shelves. All that is left are the wall
shelves, which look to be primarily children’s and young teen’s books. Another day at least. Not to mention whatever kind of inventorying
and cataloging we can do with them so the library can actually be a usable
one.
While I was playing Mr. Dewey, Chris
attacked the office area. She combined
all the curriculum materials in there so we could organize all of it into one
space in the store room. We want it to
be available for homeschool parents to use if they need it. We still have some issues with the office
that we need to deal with. The big one there
will be figuring out a way to extend the reach of the wifi to the downstairs
building. It works great upstairs, but
somehow dies out before it can get to the worship building. We have tried one of those power boosters,
but the only thing that has worked so far is running a cable across the floor
and setting up an antenna in one of the windows facing the worship center. Guess we could run that cable through the
ceiling and set the antenna in the attic area.
Wonder if that would work. And
ideas are welcome from all you techies out there.
Hebrews 3:1 says, “Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your
thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.”
Father, thank you for the resources you
have blessed Seaside with. Help us get a
handle on what we have so we can more effectively use them for you. Amen.
