Yesterday was a work day for us. We were up and out of the house by eight to head out to Sam’s house to start cleaning it out and continuing the never-ending chore of searching through paperwork. Great morning. Just something about working together …
We stopped by the church to chat with the pastor for a few minutes. Even got to say hi to his kids. Noa and Ezra were there for a voice lesson. And before heading home we stopped at the local food truck - Shrimp n Stuff. Good stuff.
Back home we finished up that lunch special and settled in to watch the first game of round one of the playoffs. Yes, that would be the Astros. This time they faced a pretty hot Detroit Tiger team and my favorite active manager, A.J. Hinch. Didn’t turn out so well for the good guys, but today’s another game.
Last night we went over to the Lutheran retreat center here in our neighborhood. It was our Neighbor’s Night Out. The fire department came and let kids climb on the truck. And of course moms and dads took plenty of pictures. Inside, a roomful of neighbors grazed through some goodies that different ones brought while chatting around some tables. It was good to see some of the folks we say hello to on our walks.
Romans 12:12 ~ Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Father, thank you for the chance to connect with some of our neighbors. And it’s always great to see fire fighters. Bless them. Amen.
