August 16 – “Pushing through”

We started back to walking again.  We made sure to do it when it was not so hot outside, though.  We sure don’t want any more of Chris’ “episodes.”  She did great.  She even continued right on into her physical therapy exercises.  And she wore her new ankle weights for those.  That’s encouraging.  She’s really pushing through.  Or at least trying to.

I did my Saturday run-throughs of the sermon, then dove into one of my new jigsaw puzzles.  It took me all day to even find all the edge pieces.  But the puzzle itself is a fun one.  Lots of bold colors.  A LOT of yellow.  This is the first one that has had that much yellow.  And the picture is varied and interesting.  It checks all the boxes for a good puzzle.

Josh called to check on Chris and see if she called the doctor about her latest episode.  Nope.  That didn’t happen.  But she does have an appointment to see her doctor on Monday.  Well, she thought she was going to see her doctor.  Come to find out, they have apparently assigned her to a resident for that visit.  Again.  She is pretty fed up with that particular office.  If she does have to see a resident, her plans are to switch to the clinic nearest us, where she originally had a doctor anyway.  That in itself is a long, crazy, convoluted story.  We’ll see how it all plays out.

More birthday wishes came through throughout the day yesterday.  Thank you to all once again.  It’s been a pretty good birthday weekend.  And now we get to start on Chris’ celebration tomorrow.

We watched the Astros game last night.  It started at 6 instead of 8.  Chris still fell asleep and missed the last few innings.  It was a low-scoring affair this time.  Good guys won 2-1.  And Ryan Pressley pitched the ninth inning like … well, like a really good closer.  Welcome back, Ryan.

John 6:68 says. ,”Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.’”

Father, again I ask that you do a healing work in Chris’ back situation.  Amen.
