August 12 – “Over”

Well, it is official.  Cousins Camp … Family Camp … 2020 is over.  We made our flying trip to Waco to deliver Zak and Caleb back into the waiting arms of their family and owl friends.  Punctuated only by that parking lot picnic stop at Buc-ees, we made great time.  And now begins the recovery phase …

I did learn something over the weekend.  Josh explained to me how the whole Kindle process works.  Just a simple app on your iPad or phone that attaches to your Amazon account.  That sounds like something I might have to try.  Of course that means I might actually have to do more reading.

Oh, and we almost got to browse at Half Price Books in Waco.  Josh was taking Caleb to see if they had a certain series he was wanting to start reading.  I was looking forward to just browsing.  Sadly, however, we discovered that all browsing in their stores has ceased due to the Corona.  That, in fact, was the catalyst for the Kindle discussion.  Ah, well.  Learning something new …

Last night we watched the Astros game.  Well, Chris watched some of it.  She bailed on them around 9:30 or so.  The game lasted until 12:10, though.  Extra innings … again.  Lost … again.  Hang in there, Astros.  Your AA and AAA guys are doing really well.  Baptism by fire and all.  Sigh.  Let’s continue watching this Spring Training Season …

Romans 8:18 says, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

Father, thank you for riding with us over the last few days.  It was … different getting to do some of the driving.  Almost felt like we were on vacation.  Almost.  Amen
