Kel preached from the book of Hebrews yesterday. The point upfront was: Only Jesus is enough, because he is greater. One of the things he is greater than? The Law. Leviticus. For example, he declared, “Wearing mixed fabrics was against the law. So most of you are breaking the law right now!” Great point, but the funniest part of the whole segment? People all around the room started checking clothing labels.
After church we headed over to Texas and the Kel Household. They invited us to participate in celebrating Micah’s 19th birthday.
Kaylie (Micah’s girlfriend) and her family were there as well. Can’t beat a birthday dinner of shrimp gumbo and chocolate pie.
On the way home we stopped by Nathan and April and Cailyn’s house. Surprisingly, they were all home. We stayed and chatted for quite a long time, too.
Great day all the way around. Let’s do it again sometime soon.
Matthew 5:9 says, The peacemakers are blessed, for they will be called sons of God.
Father, thanks for you for Micah. Be with him as he gets ready to head for college next month. Amen.
