Early start again. Chris had another doc appointment. This one, though, was up in Texas. Off the island we go.
This one was a quickie. All is well with Chris and her C-pap machine. I was a little concerned, though. The doc called her “Honey” as we were leaving. All was well, though. He also said, “God bless you” at least four times. And we hadn’t even sneezed. Also, he is leaving. Sadly, a typical experience for us and doctors. He’s going to work closer to his home, since he now drives three hours a day. Good for him. Oh, and he highly recommended a particular nurse practitioner to take over Chris’ case. “Great clinician who I would take my family to.” Next appointment made for next June. Check.
From there we headed down Highway 6 all the way to Missouri City. Yep. It was time once again to try to get that account of Sam’s closed. I had in hand the last document they were requesting before releasing the account to the estate. Aaaannd … they will email me a new form to fill out, sign and mail back. Once that is in hand, they will cut a check. If the check is cut by their office, our guy will call and we have to come pick it up. If another office does it, they will mail it back to me. Whew.
With a sigh, we headed back South. By this time we were hungry, so we found a Whataburger in none other than Manvel, Texas, in the parking lot of the big ol’ HEB.
From there we stopped off at the LaMarque Vaughan’s. Christina and Chris needed to touch base on places to stay when we take Micah to school in Virginia. I needed someone much younger than me to fix an app on my phone. Micah handled it in a heartbeat. Nice job.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says, Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Father, thanks for the good report from Dr. “Honey.” And thanks for those youngsters of ours who can figure out phones. Amen.
